10 Years! (Nov 2010)

Yes, saying that and typing it make me feel old. When I look at our engagement photos that I have on a counter in the kitchen I see how young we both looked when we got married. Young or not we're still in LOVE and that's all that matters. To celebrate we went out to eat! That may not be a big deal for most, but to us it is. (remember we live off of a small resident salary) It was fun to go out and eat and just have a few hours to ourselves without the kids. We tried Mi Tierra and it did not disappoint. It's no secret I heart Mexican food and could eat it everyday of the week. I had some tamales covered in a meat gravy sauce. Delish! The restaurant has a really fun atmosphere with the decorations and all! It was a perfect evening to celebrate our marriage.

First food and first fire (Nov 2010)

Back in November Scarlett started rice cereal. Her face tells it all. I've had the hardest time getting her to eat solids (that is baby food). She has just not been interested. She still continued to grow healthy and strong though. Plenty of chubs to go around. Her Mamma's milk is all she needs. Just over the past couple of weeks has she been able to pick up puffs and other finger foods and put them in her mouth. So maybe we'll just skip over all that pureed stuff and move into the good stuff.

It also got cold enough to build fires in November. So we all enjoyed that.

Christmas Card Photo shoot

I'm surprised I even got a few good ones. It was so hard to get them both to cooperate and Scarlett wasn't yet sitting up by herself. That really limited the poses I could put them in together. (These were taken at the end of October).

More October 2010

She looks like sleeping beauty, but really this is her Cinderella dress. ( Well actually it was some kind of Barbie dress picked up at a yard sale for a couple dollars. It was blue though so it soon became her Cinderella dress.) This dress was one of the bribes that helped us with potty training. We mastered that back in September.

On one of Daddy's very few days off in October he helped Sophia carve her pumpkin. She said he look Maaadddd.

The girls dressed up 3 days in a row for Halloween. The first party we went to was for residents and their families so we saw if fitting to dress Scarlett up in her pink Scrubs. Sophia was Cinderella all 3 days.

The Dr.'s

She was so happy to where her dress out of the house to the parties.

There was also trick-or-treating with friends. We only made it to a couple of houses though. Sophia was tired and I was more than happy to just go out for a few mins. The girls and I went out without Daddy, because you can all guess where he was (hospital, of course.)

Scarlett also dressed up as bat girl. This was Sophia's first Halloween costume. It was fun to see another baby girl in it.

Earlier in the month we also went to the zoo to see the Elephant's smash the pumpkins. It was fun and the weather was perfect, but it's overrated.

A lot of Catching up to do

I know I haven't blogged in months, but I've been taking lots of photos and having so much fun with my girls. My parents also came to town for Christmas. It was so amazing having them here. Rob only had 4 days off last month. So we enjoyed the few he had and even enjoyed a date to the movies while my parents watched the girls.

I plan on starting to blog again and catch up on the holidays. Until then enjoy one princess in front of the tree and the other princess decorating her Gingerbread house.

Port A- Staycation

Since Texas is all new to us, there are plenty of things to go and see within a short drive.
We started things off with a trip to Port Aransas. It was about a 3 1/2 hour drive that included lots of bridges and even a ferryboat ride to get there. This was our first time visiting a Gulf coast beach. Everyone kept telling us that we wouldn't like it cause we are from California. Well the water was warm and we liked that. We agreed we have seen beaches with more beauty, but enjoyed our time there. For a 3 year old a beach is a beach and Sophia was more than happy to be there.

Our attempt at a family photo with my remote control (guess I need some practice, maybe next time I won't cut off our heads)
can you see the remote in my hand?

we had to be careful of these and other jelly fish
(I've done this before and I'm sure I'll do it again...I shot all of these photos with an iso of 1600. Why? because the last time I used my camera it was dark and I never changed the iso back. I was kicking myself when I realized I had done this. A lot of cute photos ended up grainy. Boo! You think I would have learned my lesson having done this before.)

Thinking about Christmas Cards

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is sending and receiving cards. I've already started looking around online to see where I should order from.

I love to send photo cards and Shutterfly had an amazing selection of them. I was quited impressed that they had the options of photo paper or new premium cardstock for stationary cards. You also have the options of flat or folded.

There are also so many designs to choose from whether you want something traditional or something a little more modern your cards will defiantly be chic if you go with Shutterfly.

I have so many favorites it's going to be hard to decide on just one. These are some of the ones I love.

Oh What fun Christmas Card

Bright and Merry Christmas Card

Stylish white snowflakes holiday card

I've used Shutterfly in the past for the photo books and I've never been disappointed. Good quality and great prices. They've also got personalized wall art that I would love to order. You can get gallery-wrapped canvas printed in a variety of sizes.

I'm excited to use Shutterfly this year for my Christmas Cards. The only problem I'll have is choosing just one design.
