Daddy's park
Rob was driving home from taking Step 3 a few months ago. He decided he was going to take the back roads through the country, but didn't have a gps with him. He called me to be his gps and somehow between our communication he took a couple wrong turns and ended up going home a really long way. Fortunately he found this really cool park on the way home. And though it's a bit of a drive to get to. We always have fun when we get there.(We really miss all the parks we had in Arlington. So many close ones within a 10min drive. The Parks and Rec dept. there was awesome!)
T- 1 minute before wood chips were being sucked on! Yuck. Funny thing is Sophia use to do the same thing. We were at a play group at the park one day and I was talking with some Moms. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to Sophie cause a Mom came up to me and said I think your child is sucking on wood chips. My little woodchucks.
Thankful for Friends with a Pool!
Sophia has made some great girl friends here. We've spent a lot of hours hanging out in the pool with them trying to keep cool this summer.
Love this shot. All the big sisters grabbed their Mom's sunglasses and then laid out like they were 16 and too cool for the pool. The arm floaties make this photo funny.
The 4th of July- Texas Drought style
As most of you have probably heard we've been in a severe drought for months now. It just won't rain here. We have been on water restrictions also making it hard to keep our lawn green. So to much dismay any form of fireworks were banned in our county and several other counties in Texas. We couldn't go to any shows and couldn't buy our own either. We had a good day though. We spent the day with friends at a breakfast and then BBQ later that night. Good food all day. Rob was off from work, although he did have to run into the hospital for a couple of hours that morning to work on some pre-ops. That night when it got dark our neighbor Linzie brought out tons of glow sticks and some of the little tiny white bags that you throw and they make a popping sound when they hit the ground (can't think of the name). The kids had lots of fun even though it was not a traditional year of fireworks.
