We Heart Grandma

This morning Sophia and I took Grandma to the airport. We were both very sad to see her go. She spent a whole two weeks here and we enjoyed every minute. My mother couldn't have come at a better time. Rob's current rotation leaves him little to no family time so we very much enjoyed the extra company.

She spoiled all of us with her cooking. She made enchiladas twice and some homemade Pork Chili Verde (this takes hours of prep and cooking). We were so thankful to have her in the kitchen over the last couple of weeks. Everything she makes is delicious, especially her Mexican.

My Super Mom also helped with the all the cleaning and wash. It was nice to take a break from some chores.

But we did more than just cook and clean. Sophia of course was the center of attention. Sophia loved to have another playmate, someone to follow around, and someone to read her stories. She warmed up quite well and was giving lots or hugs and kisses to her Grandma.

Good times were had..............

  • we got our shop on at all the area malls and outlets
  • walks and playing at the park
  • the Butterfly Exhibit at the Museum of Natural History
  • a Birthday lunch at La Madeleine Country French Cafe
  • a movie date with Rob while Grandma watched Sophia (we hadn't been on a date in 10 months)
  • Eastern Market- we had the Blue Bucks! Delish!
  • watched House Hunters International several times (dreaming of the home overseas Rob and I will own one day)
  • Finding the best Pupusas in town

We love you so much Mom. Thanks for everything. We miss you already and can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks.

The Butterfly Exhibit is awesome. It's an enclosed room were the butterflies fly around you. Some even land on you. Sophia loved trying to reach out for them.

Grandma could see Sophia was in need of a nap so she hummed her to sleep.

Enjoying story time.

So this is what happens when Mom and Grandma forget the stroller. You quickly become Mall Security. It's better than any stroller. Sophia loved pretending to drive and stayed in it more than her own stroller.

After the blueberry pancakes Sophia checked out the bakery.

Your photos are so good! Do you digitally scrapbook them? She looks so much like you and she has grown so big.
