Poppy and the Pool

Since it's summer Sophia now has two options for when Poppy comes: Park or Pool.
She usually still chooses both.

Mystics- free tickets

I didn't know what to expect out of the WNBA. After talking to Rob my expectations were pretty low. I was pleasantly surprised. The Verizon Center was filled with plenty of fans (from all walks of life) that showed their high energy and support through the whole game. It was a lot of fun to be around that kind of crowd and it's always good times with Alyssa and her family. Our seat were pretty good. I took my dslr and I don't own a zoom lens.

The half time show was this artist who came out with a blank canvas and painted Obama upside down. At the end he turned the painting right side up for us to see. I clapped for the artist and not for who he painted.

a high fever lead to Mommy snuggling me on the couch while I watched Barney over and over again

Sew Happy

Thanks to some wonderful friends in my ward and med-wives I have been inspired to sew something more than just a flannel baby blanket. Before these projects that is all I'd ever sewn (and just a few). I couldn't have done it without my friends. They've helped me understand patterns, shared patterns, showed me links to great tutorials and more important showed confidence in me that I could do clothes for Sophia. These are all very simple projects, but I've sewn more in these last few months than I've sewn in my whole life. It also helps to have an adorable little girl that looks super cute in anything I sew even if there's flaws in it.

Rob's dress shirt turned toddler dress

the pillowcase dress with fabric instead of a pillowcase

Scrubs to be like Daddy
(they are way to big and she won't even try them on, they were probably the hardest out of all the projects, good thing I had some help deciphering the pattern)

FLB

While my parents were still in town we tried out a new place in Georgetown called
They make the best pizza! It tasted like the pizza we had while in Italy. I'm dying to go back and eat more. So if you're in the mood for pizza give me a call.

Arlington: The Rap

This video is pretty funny (especially if you live or have ever lived here).

Remember to pause the music player at the bottom to hear the rap.

Cupcakes Actually

They had the best buttercream icing I have ever tasted
and
my Mom thinks the flourless chocolate cupcake with the buttercream icing could give Sprinkles a run for their money
